Vampire: The Masquerade
Contest of Will
This entire website is being completely re-crafted and refurbished, which is a huge project. So if things seem incomplete in places or buttons don't link to anything yet, don't worry. It will all be reconstructed so the layout is easy to use and everything will be easier to locate.
THE HOTEL - OTHER FACILITIES
THE FRONT GROUNDS
The grounds are completely accessible. Anybody can just waltz up to the front door without an issue.
The security door is brand new and it is extremely thick. It would take several werewolves several hours to break through. The only way to open them from the outside is to use a special passcard key, issued only to staff and competitors in the Contest of Will.
SUPERNATURAL SECURITY - The Tremere Reverend Thomas has created a magical barrier that will prevent all spirits from getting into The Hotel. This also prevents mages and werewolves from entering through the Umbra. This magical barrier extends all the way around The Hotel, there is no hole.
The Hotel takes up an entire city block, and across the street from it is a small abandoned park. So essentially, there is nothing else on this street and as a result, Gary residents have long ago stopped walking by. There is very little in the way of traffic which makes The Hotel its own abandoned post right in the heart of Gary.
It is only six minutes walking distance from Prince Modius' mansion. It was built intentionally close to the mansion so that the Prince could alternate between his haven and place of power as Prince to the war strategy sessions with his staff in the long war against Prince Lodin.
The street itself is chopped up with potholes.
THE BACK AREA
Directly behind The Hotel is a small, insignificant parking lot that could fit up to six vehicles comfortably. Taking one of those spots is the huge Harley Davidson motorcycle owned by Gangrel competitor Marshall Barry.
The back area has nothing else to boast about as it is dirty and full of garbage heaps. If this were cleared out, then conceivably almost anything might be done here. There is plenty of space for a few outdoor facilities if anyone had the creativity and resources to create something of note.
The back of The Hotel is completely unsecured at present. There is nothing from stopping someone from walking right up and entering from the back entrance.

INTERIOR FACILITIES
The facility was originally built as a huge war compound meant for Modius and what he anticipated might be a large, mixed army of Kindred and mortals working together to defeat Lodin. As a result, there are facilities beyond just the suites themselves, though none of them have been used for decades and all are in complete disrepair at present.
1ST FLOOR
The first floor is the street level floor, where both the front and back entrances to The Hotel are found. This is where the general operating facilities of The Hotel are currently located.
LOBBY
There is a huge lobby/reception area. Originally meant as a processing area where people could wait while any paperwork needed to be done to give them clearance, it is now being transformed into an actual lobby area where Jeeps can usually be found behind the large counter and desk. All of the keys to the rooms hang in a weird array on the wall behind him. There is really nothing from stopping anybody from taking the keys to whatever room they damn well please.
There is only one set of keys hanging per suite though, so personal rooms will not be violated in this way.
The lobby has no security staff or other forms of security at all. Jeeps sure doesn't count as security.
There are steps leading up to the rest of The Hotel and down into the basement and sub-levels. There is also an elevator, but it is broken.
HALLWAY
The Lobby connects to the back door which leads to the parking lot and other back areas through a long, dismal, dark corridor. It is wide enough for two people to walk side-by-side down it, but there was never any thought to decorating. The walls are grey and the carpet, while once a regal purple has faded and torn and is covered with a layer of dust that nobody seems interested in doing anything about.
KITCHEN AND MESS HALL
The Kitchen and Mess Hall are opposite one another, and are the closest facilities to the Lobby. The left corridor door leads into the Kitchen, which once was meant to be ready to cook and bake for a hundred warriors if need be. The appliances are all decades old and haven't been used in all that time. The best of the silver and equiptment has long ago been raided and stolen by looters. So while the capacity is here, the capability is not. A lot of work would need to be done to get the kitchen back up and running again.
The mess hall, on the other hand, was never meant to require much. A lot of tables with benches, now all covered with thick layers of dust. The smell of rot and mildew fills the air, but fifty people could sit and eat here if they wanted to.
MEDICAL
There were obvious thoughts of bringing wounded mortals here to recover rather than a public hospital, where they would still likely be vulnerable in war against intelligent Kindred who could easily slip agents in. As Modius never got his mortal army together for a big final conflict, however, not much was done and this room, the next down the line on the left side of the hallway, is just a barebones area with a few cots set up and some very old medical supply stations. Anything good was looted a long time ago.
MAIN OFFICE
This is the room across from Medical area. It is set up for Prince Modius to take light meetings. This was in the height of his reign as a Prince, and he spared no expense. The beautiful mahogany wood desk in the center of the room was clearly too large for looters and underestimated as far as its obvious high value, upon inspection. Also covering that up are the thick layers of dust, but the desk has aged well. Once cleaned up, it will be quite the luxury item in this otherwise overall dump.
The chair behind it is large and leather but hasn't been used in decades like everything else and really should be replaced as it smells funny.
There is a big thick filing cabinet here stuffed filled with paper. There are no Kindred secrets to be found, but a careful study will reveal exactly how the U.S. steel industry slowly but surely started to degrade, and then fell off completely like a barrel over a waterfall. It would take a long period of study to truly understand what specific mistakes were made but if anyone cares to take the time to analyze everything, they would get a great lesson in how to completely break an entire nation's industry, one carefully planned step at a time.
WORKSHOP
A room has been converted for use by Weaponsmith Russell Hampton. He has filled it with his tools, and other machinery to make weapons, ammunition, and armor for whomever earns the right to be serviced by him as a result of successfully playing The Contest of Will.
EMPTY ROOMS
There are five more rooms on this floor, which are empty. Whatever was here was looted and there is decaying remains of shoddy furniture that should be removed and replaced.

FLOORS 2-6
These are where the suites are. There are ten per floor.
FLOOR 2:
Mr. Confetti and the staff have rooms on Floor 2, leaving 6 empty suites on that floor. Staff on this floor include: Jeeps, The Bellboy Girl, and Russell Hampton.
FLOOR 3:
The Ventrue Hinds has been placed in a suite on this floor, leaving 9 empty suites on the floor.
FLOOR 4:
Competitors fill all 8 of 10 suites on this floor. PC's include Mortimer (Graham) and Antonio (Dimitri). The other 6 are filled by the NPC competitors.
FLOOR 5:
All ten suites are empty on this floor.
FLOOR 6:
All ten suites are empty on this floor. The ceilings in these suites all need to be fixed, as the roof above has leaks and damage from 20 years of complete neglect.
***************************************************************************************************************************************
ROOFTOP
There is an accessway from the 6th floor to the roof access. The roof is a large sprawling thing that hasn't been maintenanced in almost twenty years of harsh winters. It is in poor condition, and there is no security up here either which means a crafty supernatural threat or a normal person with a helicopter could easily infiltrate inside The Hotel from above.
***************************************************************************************************************************************
BASEMENT
The basement was made to house Kindred for war! There is a small barracks down here with bunk beds and a large table in the center of the room with an old sprawling map of Gary, the highway, and Chicago. There are markings on the map, but no key as to what they mean.
There is a supplies area that has sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels, as well as some basic supplies such as industrial cleaning products and dishwashing soap for the kitchen. There are canned goods here, mostly soup and other non-spoilables. But they are 20 years old. Yuck.
***************************************************************************************************************************************
SUB-BASEMENT
Built to last, this is a strong bunker with very strong walls. It is quite defensible as the only access are the stairs and the elevator shaft. There is a supply closet that is filled with glass jars, but they are empty. This place is huge, obviously, and empty. There isn't even any spare furniture down here, and nothing of value remains otherwise.
