CONTEST OF WILL PLAYERS

Here you will learn about the people who are ICly involved with and know all about the Contest of Will. Obviously, the people in the game have the game as a secret from the rest of the world. So you are all part of a special club.

MR. CONFETTI

The enigmatic entity known only as Mr. Confetti is an undead contradiction. Though everyone knows he's really Malkavian, Mr. Confetti himself does not acknowledge this. A few decades ago he started his own bloodline called The Gargantuan clan.

In Milwaukee he caused a lot of problems initially by using his vastly powerful Dominate to cause many others - both Kindred, ghouls, and mortals to think they also were part of the Gargantuan clan. Eventually, though with a large assault on the city by the Sabbat, Mr. Confetti gave up that prank, released everyone from his mental control, and was instrumental in saving the life of the Ventrue Prince, other Elders, and the city entire when he personally slew the Sabbat Arch-Bishop. He has gained the permanent enmity of the Sabbat as a result, and the Camarilla knows it. He is well respected.

In addition, Mr. Confetti is extremely well versed as a musician and can play at least ten different instruments at the highest level of skill. His favorite seems to be the violin and he is seldom without one. He often shows up unannounced at Toreador parties. At first they were outraged until they listened to him play. Then he became so welcome that they started inviting him. He has never formally accepted an invitation but instead shows up at parties he isn't invited to! So they stopped inviting him, but Mr. Confetti showing up to play became a secret hope of every Toreador, as the prestige it garnered the Toreador in question became very high.

Mr. Confetti has never settled into a place for longer than a few months. Always on the go, he appears when you least expect.

He has now started The Contest of Will, bringing many powerful kindred to the broken land of Gary, Indiana. What are his true motives for starting this game? You'll just have to play it to find out.

Mr. Confetti is a True Elder being controlled by the Storyteller. He is not a competitor of The Contest of Will, but is instead the creator and judge of the game, awarding points and rewards to the competitors as they achieve results.

MORTIMER T. SMITH

Mortimer is an infiltration specialist who can get in anywhere - both physically and in cyberspace. Having created The Algorithm, a special infiltration tool of his own design keeping Mortimer from finding out what's behind Door Number one AND Door number two is nearly impossible.

He is frightening to behold! He looks like a big nasty evil bird or something. Yeah, the curse got him good.

And he's only been Kindred for five years. A Pretender Class PC, Mortimer is being run by Graham Frye.

MARSHALL BARRY

Marshall is a bad ass biker who has been a member of the Hell's Angels since its inception. In 1955 he was with Rocky Graves when the different Hells Angels groups were brought together under one roof. Marshall was the enforcer who kept everybody in line.

Exactly when he made the crossover from live Hell's Angel to undead one isn't exactly clear. What is still clear is he didn't stop being a Hell's Angel. So fuck you!

For fun, Marshall keeps track of how many times he's broken the law - 484,927 times by his count. Alrighty, then.

KATARINA NOVOSKYATIN

Katarina has lived a mostly secluded life in the Romanian mountain retreat that has been a sanctuary to elders of her clan for many centuries. She is Russian and was chosen by one of the eldest of her clan, and approved by all of the rest of them before her embrace. She is a part of the Oradea League, who are not affiliated with The Sabbat.

She is a genius level scientist with a skewed code of morality which allows her to basically overcome any squeamishness. Though she excels in a laboratory surrounded by test tubes and mathematical equations her real talent lies in large social awareness experiments where she can essentially study and entire population and determine how to best manipulate it to maximize its potential for Kindred sustainability.

She plans to conduct many such experiments on the populations of Gary and Chicago, and use the results to determine how to alter both areas for the betterment of, well, herself, mostly. But the rest of the Kindred around her should also thrive if they follow her suggestions.

Also she has experimented on herself using her skincrafting powers. She is physically as flawless as an individual woman can be. This is a distraction she uses to her advantage often.

Reverend Jeremiah Thomas

Reverend Thomas is a genuine believer in God, the Bible, and Thaumaturgical power as a source of cleansing the true evils of the universe. He believes that God loves all of his creatures, and even undead are creatures. God created Caine, who murdered his brother Abel. God then transformed Caine into the first of the vampires and there was a plan in that.

A plan that the rest of the Catholic church refused to see. Which is why when Reverend Thomas was charged by the Inquisition to review all of the evidence they'd collected - thousands of pages of materials - to decide if the threat was legitimate or a hoax, Thomas was able to temporarily stem the tide by disproving the existence of the Kindred even as the proof he read convinced him of their immortal powers, which were far greater than he'd previously suspected. He then used his own occult knowledge to find them.

The Tremere saw one of their own in this man, and transformed him. His intimate knowledge of the ways of Catholicism have made him into a potent weapon against the Sabbat. His affinity with blood magic has made him a favorite of the Tremere elite.

Still, he is not content with being a mere pawn of the Tremere clan. That is not his purpose, he knows. So did Mr. Confetti. Now the good Reverend has been transferred to the Chicago Chantry, but has been given permission to conduct private experiments in Gary and set up his own haven. Instead of doing that, he checked in at The Hotel.

Pablo Acosta AKA The Night Fist

Pablo Acosta is a Spanish painter who spent a great deal of his young life getting his beautiful paintings into the galleries in smaller venues in Barcelona.

When a Toreador Elder saw his work, she fell in love with it and began to visit him. Entranced by this amazing woman, Pablo fell deeply in love with her, and she became his muse, which brought his art to another level.

Unfortunately, the Sabbat assault on Barcelona was vicious, and Pablo was with his lady when they came for her. She fought them off, and he tried to as well. He had no chance and was smashed against a wall. Her ghoul retainers arrived just in time to save her from Final Death, and the Sabbat were driven off. She healed Pablo and embraced him.

They moved to a secret haven of hers and Pablo, undergoing his transformation, had to come to terms with what he had become! He realized that this...was his origin story! Secretly his art inspiration had come from his childhood infatuation of superhero comics. Now he had powers like super speed and super charm. A fitting skill for a handsome romantic like Pablo!

Over the decades he has honed his fighting skills and fought the Sabbat and the Anarch Movement tooth and nail. They both hate him very much. As he breaks the Masquerade everywhere he goes, the Elders hate him too. Once a Prince called a blood hunt on him but was forced to call it off when the Night Fist beat up every single vampire that attacked him. His loyal retainer Magnussen serves as daytime bodyguard and all acquisitions guy. And butler.

When Pablo received the invitation he thought it might be a trap set by a new Arch Nemesis. He has taken the bait and is willing to play the game. But he's ready if there's trouble.

Pablo is a Toreador Pretender class NPC controlled by The Storyteller

Salihah, the only Egyptian competitor, won the all around world gymnastics championships in 1953 and 1954, but her nation failed to put a team together for the Olympics. Though she lobbied, no competing nation would take her, despite how she had clobbered the competition easily the two preceding years. She was forced to watch as three women took home the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal. None of them approached her then world record scores.

It was obvious that she faced bigotry and jealousy from all sides. She had nothing but enemies in the sport that she had dedicated her life to.

She became bitter and had no career despite being among the world's greatest athletes. It wasn't long before her sire took her, and gave her a new purpose.

But an internal war within the Setite temple where her kind sire was master exploded when a stricter cult-obsessed rival staged a violent coup. Her master and allies slain, she herself was spared only because the new High Priest had seen her dance and decided she needed to be broken and made into his personal toy.

She pretended to break and fooled her much more powerful captor just long enough to put her sharp, barbed tongue through his left eye. She drank and drank! Then she silently moved from room to room and did the same to all of his loyal, cruel cultists. In the name of her sire, she spent the rest of her time recruiting and rebuilding the strength of the temple, and became a High Priestess in her own right. But after decades of that, it lost its allure...

Salihah is a Diabolist class NPC run by the Storyteller

All you have to do is watch the opening sequence. The rest of this documentary is incorrect anyway. Tony Hidalgo is the Chupacabra!

Anthony "Tony" Hidalgo was a tough guy in Mexico City. When the Giovanni Family decided to take over the crime cartel there they tapped Tony as an excellent enforcer. The Hidalgo family, being cousins on the Giovanni family tree, made Tony an acceptable candidate for the Elders in the clan, and Tony was Embraced. He was the muscle of the operation but had to suffer through more intelligent and "pure" Giovanni members taking over the cartel and making all the money.

Then the Sabbat came in and assaulted all non-Sabbat factions, and wiped the Giovanni out completely. Those such as Tony who survived the initial assault were captured and used as lab experiments.

Tony impressed the Tzimisce so much that the Arch Bishop decided to allow him to live and teach him the initial level of Visscitude. The Arch Bishop allowed Tony to work his way to freedom, after which he rejoined the Giovanni Family who were at war with the Ravnos in Central and South America. Tony mauled his way through Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, and Honduras, finally working his way back up to Mexico where he slaughtered plenty of Sabbat as thanks for a full year of torture.

Tony ate every Kindred he could to take their power, eventually becoming a powerful Elder through diablerie. His Vicssitude was rivaled only by his mastery of Chimerstry, two disciplines no other Giovanni in the world had in combination.

As a result of Tony's triumphant return, his mentor was stripped of his position within the Sabbat and only narrowly escaped. Ironically, it was Tony who helped smuggle him out of Mexico. As thanks, he continued to teach Tony the dark flesh and bone crafting power of the Tzmisce.

Finally, Tony achieved a powerful Horrid Form and used it to cut a true swath through the Ravnos, Sabbat, Camarilla, whomever the Giovanni wanted out of the way. Tony Hidalgo had become one of their main enforcers. Because of the Sabbat's lack of care about the Masquerade, and their desire to see Tony meet his Final Death, many incidents have been reported in the last couple of decades of a creature they call...the Chupacabra! It is not an animal it is Tony in his Horrid Form!

Every time there is an incident he has to move on. Now having been invited into the Contest of Will by Mr. Confetti, Tony requested a move to Gary, Indiana and has finally been given permission to try and carve a criminal empire for himself!

Anthony Hidalgo is a diabolist class PC run by Dimitri

The man who is now known as Louis Cypher, AKA Lucifer, was once a mortal smuggler who had control of a brisk pirating business in the 1760's. He was so charismatic and so successful that he could fill up a ship with brigands in a mere matter of several hours of showing up at port.

He was very successful at politics as well, getting the ear of King George III, and manipulating him into raising the price of tea and other important exports, and adding a massive tax, heading to his colonies in North America. Lou would then sell those same exports in the colonies at a much lower price, making a sizable fortune for himself in the process, but also teaching the colonists that such items could be had for a reasonable price, and tax-free to boot. This led to the American Revolution, which Lou pretty much single-handedly caused.

The acting Lucifer at the time, looking for his eventual replacement, was suitably impressed, and in 1776 embraced the smuggler, teaching him how to become the Devil himself.

Over the centuries since, Louis Cypher has demonstrated an incredible capacity for getting other people into massive amounts of debt and trouble by making stupid deals with him that turn out really well for Louis, and temporarily well for them, but in the end...

Well, the Devil is in the Details. And no one understands the details better than him.
