Who I Am

When a Peabody Award winning producer needed a great television pilot to lure an A-List Show Runner onto the team, he called one phone number -- Mine.

I will fix your scripts!

Producers and directors, many of the scripts you've optioned or purchased are broken, and you need them fixed. You've probably reluctantly vaulted some of those scripts but now there's a solution: ME.

I'm the Script Surgeon. You've got a broken script, and I can fix it.

Writers, you've worked hard on your manuscripts for screen and TV but nobody is biting! You aren't placing high in contests, you aren't making sales. Let me take a look at it. I will break it down for you.

Together, we will fix it!

“I’ve been a stand-up comic for 11 years but only been working on and writing scripts for the last three and Al is who I turned to when I needed both general and personal script guidance.

He was able to pinpoint not only what wasn’t working with my scripts but why and help me generate solutions that worked with my style. As a script doctor and guide he’s the best. I always walk away from one of our meetings with a list of changes or questions to push my writing to the next level and always excited to work on it. “

I've officially signed with manager Leon Clarke, CEO of Erlee Entertainment. It is exciting to be affiliated with Leon and his fresh new agency. I am only one of two screenwriters he has currently signed.

Leon's affiliation with the legendary Gordy family is pretty cool. Of course, they are legends of the music industry, but every now and again they produce a film or television show. Last Dragon, anyone?

Over the years I've talked to specialists who give themselves titles like "screenwriting guru" and "script doctor" and god knows what - "story orthodontist". I always walk away from them with the nagging feeling that I've just been bullshitted. Then I saw Alan give a presentation about creating a TV show Bible from an insider's POV - and it was a game changer for me - really helped me structure my seasonal arcs in a presentable and marketable way.

I took it a step further and paid for his script analysis, and I honestly have to say I got way more than I expected. Alan knows the craft inside and out. His analysis of my TV pilot and follow up Skype consult was extensive. The man knows how to keep a script on track at any level or genre.

He also told me some things that I didn't want to hear. I wanted to tear my hair out.
And his. But he's so encouraging that little by little, those suggestions distilled into something I could put my spin on, and ultimately improved the pilot. I'll cut to the chase: the guy knows his shit.
