It is well known that Lodin was a 7th Generation Kindred. Therefore, all of the members of his Ventrue Brood are known to be 8th Generation, and were created by Lodin for their abilities to take over different aspects of mortal life in Chicago. Peterson is one of them, and controls all of the media, focused on the newspapers and reaching outwards to radio and television, to protect the Masquerade.
When Marshall Barry went on his rampage, it was Joseph Peterson who was the first to act. Clamping down on the newspapers and TV outlets in Gary, Chicago, and the rest of the vicinity, he prevented the Masquerade from being broken and has blamed the massacre on a local gang in Gary.
Marshall Barry now owes him a major boon as a result. To repay that boon, he has ordered Marshall to eliminate the Sin City gang, so that the Bloods, apparently controlled by the Ventrue clan, can move into Gary, Indiana.

Tommy used to run a nightclub called The Succubus Club. He was thought to have been destroyed during the Lupine assault, but it turns out the Toreador clan used the opportunity to take a little personal revenge against one of the least secure members of the Ventrue.
Tommy was captured and held in Prince Modius' dungeons, where he was tortured for information for months on end. In addition a Toreador neonate was put in charge of The Succubus Club in Tommy's place.
Now he has been rescued by Mortimer, Antonio, and Salihah, and Mr. Confetti is working to slowly repair the damage done to his mind and restore him. Whether this will bring good or bad events to the competitors is hard to say.

All that is currently known about Sovereign is that he accompanied Joseph Peterson in their last visit to Gary, to threaten Marshall Barry into helping them disrupt the alliance between Modius and Juggler, and to eliminate the threat of the Sin City gang in Gary.
